Makeup Review: Concealer!

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

We've all got those days where we just can't afford to spend too much time on beauty rest. I don't know about you girls, but when I don't sleep, the dark bluish circles under my eyes can be spotted from a mile away! And to make matters even worse, I'm naturally as white as a sheet so the blue veins underneath my eyes tend to stand out even more! Before I discovered this concealers my under-eyes were screaming to be helped but now they're very happy and so am I!

Packaging:

This concealer comes in a pen form and although this can be useful at times, it can also be a pain to deal with. This style of packaging allows this product to be very handy when traveling for two reasons. For one, it is very compact and can easily be fitted into your cosmetics bag. Secondly, it comes with a brush tip applicator which means that you can manage without packing an extra separate brush

just for concealer. Now, I do have a problem with this packaging because when you first buy this product you have to twist and twist for a while with nothing coming out and then suddenly a huge blob of product gushes out and leaves you with a mess of wasted product. Another problem I have with this packaging is that although the brush tip applicator is a smart idea, it can't be used for much. The tip is very flimsy and can't blend too well. If for some reason you weren't able to keep an extra brush with you, you can definitely make do with the built in brush but I personally don't like using it.

Product:

Dream Lumi Touch is very runny and quite thin. Having said that, it is pretty well pigmented. When applying be careful to apply a small amount then build it up with more if you need to because this product can become quite messy if you apply too much due to its liquidy nature. Again because it is so thin, this doesn't provide very high coverage. My circles aren't usually too bad so this is enough for me, but if you need heavy coverage this might not be what you need. The swatch you see is in the shade "ivory" which is the lightest shade. I just eyeballed this while in the drugstore. It turned out to be a pretty good match thankfully. There are 6 different shades which isn't too great of a selection but I believe this concealer will work for a lot of people.

Price:

This concealer is definitely known to be a very affordable version for many high-end concealers out there. Coming in at around $8.00 (depending where you buy) Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer is a great product to invest in.

Purchase:

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting concealer can be found in any drugstore such as Walmart or Shoppers DrugMart

Rating:

Considering both negatives and positives, I would say a 4 out of 5 stars is a fair score
Go go and getcha some!!!

xoxo
